I agree with Jordan; the way people think in our society makes it so that there will never be true equality, in wealth or otherwise. There will always have to be someone who is "superior" to others. It's not easy to accept that fact, but once we do then we will be able to work on a way to possibly change that, or if that is too hard, then to find a way to better distribute wealth. In other words, extreme wealthiness should become a thing of the past if we truly want to work towards a goal of minimal poverty in our world.

I disagree with Collin when he says that the earth can support everyone on it. At the rate that we are consuming, growing and developing, we are dialing forward our own clock of time. The resources we have are limited and becoming even more so each day. Our environment is deteriorating and as our numbers go up, the health of the earth goes down. It's true that we have enough food though-- just think about the amount of food that's scraped off of plates into the garbage each day. If we redistributed that food accordingly, no one would be hungry and a huge part of poverty would be solved.
